Ministry of Environment and Forestry Ministerial Regulation 4/2024 on the Implementation of Peatland Restoration Activities in 2024

The regulation details a new governance mechanism for peatland restoration;
1. Tasking the governors in 7 provinces (Riau, Jambi, South Sumatera, West Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, & Papua) to accelerate peatland restoration in their area.
2. Developed a new task force to accelerate peatland restoration financed by the National Budget in each mentioned province headed by senior officials of the regional Department of Environment.
